India DLO

 

We were learning to create a DLO ( Digital Learning Object.)  A Digital Learning Object teaches people about different things virtually online. My DLO was about Neha in India. There were several choices of different children around the world. The DLO had to include audio, images from the video that we had watched and chosen, and a photo of the child that you were learning about to show which child you had chosen to learn about. I was learning to be a researcher because I found it easy to use my chromebook to find good uses for this DLO.

I found it easy to insert the link when you click on Neha it will also take you to the children around the world website with all the different videos. To link images to websites, all you need to do is: Go to the website that you are wanting to link. Next, go to the top bar and there will be a code mixed up with different numbers and letters. After that, you have to highlight that code using your mouse and dragging it along the line of the code and click control c at the same time to copy the code. Upcoming, click into the tab that you were using to link whatever you wanted to link. Following after all that, click on this button here on your screen. It looks like a paper clip.
Then, if you are on google slides, click on the bar and push control v to paste the link in the bar. Lastly, click "APPLY" and when you click on the image that you had linked the website to it will take you straight to it.


I found it hard to pause the video and take screenshots for this slide because I never knew where or when each of the topic was going to land on the video for the slide that I had created. It was challenging to move everything around to make it all fit on the slide because I thought that I had lots to put on the slide about India. I found it difficult to pick the right GIFs for the backgrounds because I wanted people to think that my work was cool and very enjoying to look at.

I really enjoyed inserting the butterfly that has the Indian flag on the wings because my teacher complimented it when she saw it. I was fun to make the background on the first slide because I liked using the gradient tool to help me make the colours of the Indian flag.

Real or fake media

 

We were learning to see if we could spot things online that were real or fake. Then we had to use Google Drawings and try to convince people that the media we created was real. We had to write a story also. The story had to be about the Google Drawing Media. 

I found it easy to pick a background because there were so many beautiful beaches to choose from. I'm delighted that there was a perfect bowl of salad for the squirrel-ostrich. I also found it easy to use the website Remove Background to remove the background to many things. Such as the lady, the ostrich, the squirrel, and the salad.

I found it hard to decide how the squirrel was going to stick on to the ostrich to make them a mutant. I also found it challenging to choose what two animals I was going to decide on either a bunny or a squirrel. It was hard to decide why the lady would come walking past.

I enjoyed getting to use Google Drawings because I don't use Google Drawings a lot.  It was very exciting to use my imagination to create the SQUIRREL- OSTRICH and how they would become friends. I adored looking at all the different beaches for the background

Next time I need to use better adjectives and verbs in my writing so it is more interesting and more exciting to read. I think I need to improve my imagination skills and think about better ways to express imagination.

My apples are stuck!

 

We were learning to write about creative explanation writing. Explanation writing is where you explain how something works or why something happens. There were three options to choose about what we will be writing about. The first option was about a kite that was stuck on the roof. The second option was about a sports ball that had popped. The last option was the one that I have written, about the apples that were on the top of the tree. Each problem had six items that we had to choose from. When we had to  decide the three items that we want to use to solve the problem that we had chosen to write about. I was being a thinker because I thought creatively to solve this problem about my apples. We had a planning sheet that we typed on so we could mostly copy and paste things on our good copy of writing.

I found it easy to decide what three items that I was going to use for my problem solving because there were quite handy and useful and different items to use to solve this problem . It was not very challenging to decide what problem I chose because I had a good idea about how I was going to solve this very different mishap.

I found it hard to choose technical words for writing because I don't think my writing was very detailed. It was very challenging to tell the owner of the spade why I had stolen the shovel had how I was let the owner know that I was taking it.

I really enjoyed choosing the title of this story because it was something very creative and chucklesome. I liked having to have a choice about what problem to choose. It was fun to write that I was going to stand on the car to get the apples down because I thought it was a insane to think like that. 

Next time I need to think better about how to think more imaginative to solve problems like this or maybe even different problems. I could possibly improve my vocabulary to make sure that it is all at level three.

Explanation writing DLO

 

We were learning to create a DLO ( Digital Learning Object) about explanation writing. We were also learning to explain how something works or why it happens. Our teachers chose lots of topics that all the kids had to choose one of them.  Our DLO had to include certain things such as audio, arrows, diagrams, and stages that your goes through. I was being a researcher. I had to choose the right resources to use to find out things to write in my planning and on this DLO. 

I found it easy to make the gradient for my title. I too found it easy to copy and paste my diagrams from one place to the other. Using control C to copy and control V to paste. 

I found it hard to create my diagrams on google drawings because my hands were not very steady using polyline and curve, especially the Autumn leaf. It was quite hard to find a good website to record my audio because it kept on coming up with information about other seasons accept for Autumn.

I enjoyed creating word art  for my title because I thought it looked pretty. I also enjoyed adding the background for the second slide because all of the backgrounds looked very tropical and very exciting.

Next time I need to look for a more specific thing to search on Google because then I will be able to record myself saying more clear thing instead of saying  things that take me a while to pronounce.

Germany DLO

 

 

 

In week 1 term 4 room 9 and 10 received and envelope. Everyone was in shock. Absolutely no one knew what it was. We all found out that it was from children from all over the world. It was very surprising to find this out. 
We were learning to create a DLO (digital learning object) about a certain country. We had to choose a partner and we got handed out different papers with lots of different countries on it. Then we had to insert images relating to what we were saying. We were also putting audio onto this DLO to explain information and to teach people about different countries.

I found it easy to work with my partner and create this DLO because each day we would focus on one thing each. It was very easy to link images to websites with further information about different things that my partner and I haven't put on this slide. 

I found it hard to find the perfect font that suits the slides because there not very good fonts for everything on the slides. I also found it hard to to decide what transition to do because there were so many different transitions to choose from.

I enjoyed choosing different colours to everything because it made a good finishing touch. I also really enjoyed learn how to work with other people. I liked learning how to link images to website because now when I do other things on slides I might be able to do that.

Next time I need to think about what things to say on the audio because some of the parts were a bit mixed up. Maybe I could link more images to websites so everyone who sees this will get further information about Germany.
