Piskel GIF

 

We were learning to use the app piskel. The app piskel helps to create sprites and GIFs. Here is a link showing you where the website is https://www.piskelapp.com/ We learned how to use rotation, reflection, and translation. A GIF is a graphics interchange format. To make a link onto your own blog post simply follow these steps:

   I found it easy to do this. Go to the website that you are wanting to link. Next, go to the top bar and there will be a code mixed up with different numbers and letters. After that, you have to highlight that code using your mouse and dragging it along the line of the code and click control c at the same time to copy the code. Upcoming, click into the tab that you were using to link whatever you wanted to link. Following after all that, click on this button here on your screen. It looks a little bit like paperclip.

Then, if you are on google slides, click on the bar and push control v to paste the link in the bar. Lastly, click "APPLY" and when you click on the image that you had linked the website to it will take you straight to it. Or if you have a blog post that you are wanting to link to when you press apply it will show up on the sentence that you were writing.

I found it hard to add all the details to the rabbit jumping around the screen because I had to click the rotation and translation button so many times that it took thirty-four slides to complete this GIF.  I found it a bit challenging to line up the bunny's head and body shape because when I was using the pen tool sometimes the lines would not be straight.

I really enjoyed choosing what I was going to draw on the GIF and how I wanted it to move around the screen. It was fun to choose the colour of the rabbit because there were so many different shades of different colours to choose from. I liked the pastel colours the most.

Next time I need to improve on making more slides to make the GIF more longer and more satisfying to watch. Maybe I could try to make my art skills better try and make the rabbit more detailed and have other people think that it looks superior.

India DLO

 

We were learning to create a DLO ( Digital Learning Object.)  A Digital Learning Object teaches people about different things virtually online. My DLO was about Neha in India. There were several choices of different children around the world. The DLO had to include audio, images from the video that we had watched and chosen, and a photo of the child that you were learning about to show which child you had chosen to learn about. I was learning to be a researcher because I found it easy to use my chromebook to find good uses for this DLO.

I found it hard to pause the video and take screenshots for this slide because I never knew where or when each of the topic was going to land on the video for the slide that I had created. It was challenging to move everything around to make it all fit on the slide because I thought that I had lots to put on the slide about India. I found it difficult to pick the right GIFs for the backgrounds because I wanted people to think that my work was cool and very enjoying to look at.

I really enjoyed inserting the butterfly that has the Indian flag on the wings because my teacher complimented it when she saw it. I was fun to make the background on the first slide because I liked using the gradient tool to help me make the colours of the Indian flag.

Real or fake media

 

We were learning to see if we could spot things online that were real or fake. Then we had to use Google Drawings and try to convince people that the media we created was real. We had to write a story also. The story had to be about the Google Drawing Media. 

I found it easy to pick a background because there were so many beautiful beaches to choose from. I'm delighted that there was a perfect bowl of salad for the squirrel-ostrich. I also found it easy to use the website Remove Background to remove the background to many things. Such as the lady, the ostrich, the squirrel, and the salad.

I found it hard to decide how the squirrel was going to stick on to the ostrich to make them a mutant. I also found it challenging to choose what two animals I was going to decide on either a bunny or a squirrel. It was hard to decide why the lady would come walking past.

I enjoyed getting to use Google Drawings because I don't use Google Drawings a lot.  It was very exciting to use my imagination to create the SQUIRREL- OSTRICH and how they would become friends. I adored looking at all the different beaches for the background

Next time I need to use better adjectives and verbs in my writing so it is more interesting and more exciting to read. I think I need to improve my imagination skills and think about better ways to express imagination.

My apples are stuck!

 

We were learning to write about creative explanation writing. Explanation writing is where you explain how something works or why something happens. There were three options to choose about what we will be writing about. The first option was about a kite that was stuck on the roof. The second option was about a sports ball that had popped. The last option was the one that I have written, about the apples that were on the top of the tree. Each problem had six items that we had to choose from. When we had to  decide the three items that we want to use to solve the problem that we had chosen to write about. I was being a thinker because I thought creatively to solve this problem about my apples. We had a planning sheet that we typed on so we could mostly copy and paste things on our good copy of writing.

I found it easy to decide what three items that I was going to use for my problem solving because there were quite handy and useful and different items to use to solve this problem . It was not very challenging to decide what problem I chose because I had a good idea about how I was going to solve this very different mishap.

I found it hard to choose technical words for writing because I don't think my writing was very detailed. It was very challenging to tell the owner of the spade why I had stolen the shovel had how I was let the owner know that I was taking it.

I really enjoyed choosing the title of this story because it was something very creative and chucklesome. I liked having to have a choice about what problem to choose. It was fun to write that I was going to stand on the car to get the apples down because I thought it was a insane to think like that. 

Next time I need to think better about how to think more imaginative to solve problems like this or maybe even different problems. I could possibly improve my vocabulary to make sure that it is all at level three.

Explanation writing DLO

 

We were learning to create a DLO ( Digital Learning Object) about explanation writing. We were also learning to explain how something works or why it happens. Our teachers chose lots of topics that all the kids had to choose one of them.  Our DLO had to include certain things such as audio, arrows, diagrams, and stages that your goes through. I was being a researcher. I had to choose the right resources to use to find out things to write in my planning and on this DLO. 

I found it easy to make the gradient for my title. I too found it easy to copy and paste my diagrams from one place to the other. Using control C to copy and control V to paste. 

I found it hard to create my diagrams on google drawings because my hands were not very steady using polyline and curve, especially the Autumn leaf. It was quite hard to find a good website to record my audio because it kept on coming up with information about other seasons accept for Autumn.

I enjoyed creating word art  for my title because I thought it looked pretty. I also enjoyed adding the background for the second slide because all of the backgrounds looked very tropical and very exciting.

Next time I need to look for a more specific thing to search on Google because then I will be able to record myself saying more clear thing instead of saying  things that take me a while to pronounce. 

Germany DLO

 

 

 

In week 1 term 4 room 9 and 10 received and envelope. Everyone was in shock. Absolutely no one knew what it was. We all found out that it was from children from all over the world. It was very surprising to find this out. 

We were learning to create a DLO (digital learning object) about a certain country. We had to choose a partner and we got handed out different papers with lots of different countries on it. Then we had to insert images relating to what we were saying. We were also putting audio onto this DLO to explain information and to teach people about different countries.

I found it easy to work with my partner and create this DLO because each day we would focus on one thing each. It was very easy to link images to websites with further information about different things that my partner and I haven't put on this slide. 

I found it hard to find the perfect font that suits the slides because there not very good fonts for everything on the slides. I also found it hard to to decide what transition to do because there were so many different transitions to choose from.

I enjoyed choosing different colours to everything because it made a good finishing touch. I also really enjoyed learn how to work with other people. I liked learning how to link images to website because now when I do other things on slides I might be able to do that.

Next time I need to think about what things to say on the audio because some of the parts were a bit mixed up. Maybe I could link more images to websites so everyone who sees this will get further information about Germany. 

What is media

 

We were learning to  create a poster about what is media. Media is things like newspaper, radio, TV and social apps which convey info and ideas to the public. Media can be basically anywhere really. Media can be expressed in many ways.

I found it easy to find the right images for this activity. I also found it easy what different types of media meant and which pictures to insert.

I found it hard to choose what I really wanted my media to be because I used a lot in the last 24 hours. I also found it hard to find the right poster because a lot of them came as movie posters.

Next time I need to use less media in 24 hours so I don't have to pick and choose my favourites.

Reading DLO

 

We were learning to create a DLO to teach people about a Non-fiction book. I learnt that drones can be used in many different ways. Like people can use them to take photos, film videos, and some people use them as toys.

I found it easy to search the right images. I also found it easy to choose the non-fiction story that I wanted to create this DLO about. 

I found it hard to draw the sketch of the drone because I don't draw drones very often. I also found it hard to choose the one thing that I was teaching people.

I enjoyed creating this DLO because I liked learning about something that I didn't know about before. I also enjoyed this because  I would like to know how to use a drone some day.

Next time I need to know more about drones so I can write more in this DLO. I also need to add more detail so it looks better.

Online Conversation

 

              We were learning to create a book on Book Creator and start an online conversation with someone. We were also learning to notice what good conversations need and what bad conversations have. Good conversations have questions so the conversation keeps going. 

I found it easy to create audios for this book because I  knew what I was going to say. I also found it easy insert backgrounds and emojis. 

I found it hard to tell my partner what to say. I found it hard to get different fonts. It was hard insert images because this is not like Google slides. 

I enjoyed discovering this new website because its very unique and fun. I enjoyed exploring this website with my partner because it was fun when we had little fails and huge giggles.

Next time I need to add more panels so I can have talking and better detail.   
 

                                                                                

Spring Writing

We were learning to write the best features about Spring. We were also learning write why we like Spring. I was learning to write a paragraph using a topic sentence, supporting details, and a conclusion. 

I found it hard to use different sentence starters in all the sentences because I wanted to use the word Bees in 2 sentences but I couldn't. I also found it hard to choose level 3 vocab.

I found it easy to insert my image to the middle of the flower because the teacher put instructions on one of the slides. I also found it easy to write about the best features about Spring because Spring is one of my favourite seasons.

Next time I will use my online thesaurus more so I can use more level 3 vocab. I will also try to get more yellow in my writing . 

 

Sunflowers

 

We were learning to plant a carrot or a sunflower.  I found it easy to choose what plant I wanted to grow because I like lowers better than veggies. I found it hard choose what my research questions were going to be because I know quite a bit about both sunflowers and carrots. Next time I need to try and use different images because some of them had taken me quite a while to find.  

Go Home Ball Tag

 

We were learning to create a game of our own. I found it easy to insert images that relate to what I was saying. I found it hard to pick 3 games and merge them together because I like so many games. I enjoyed picking backgrounds because there were so many that looked pretty. Next time I need to think of a better name for the game so it doesn't sound so weird.

Movie Trailer

 

We were learning to create a PowToon about a Movie Trailer on our favourite book and I used the learning asset  The Self-Manager because I was learning to work by myself and not get distracted. I found it easy to choose the book I was going to make a Movie Trailer about because it's a HILARIOUS😛 novel about 2 sisters that absolutely HATE😠 each other but in the end they learn that no matter how strong hatred is Love is stronger. I found it hard to choose the background for the sisters room because there weren't a lot of good bedrooms to look up. I enjoyed putting sound into this PowToon because there were lots of different sound to test out. Next time I need to choose another that's a bit more simple than this so I can look at other backgrounds. 

Prototec

 

We were learning to answer basic fact questions on PROTOTEC. I found it easy to answer the times tables because I know most of them. I found it hard to do groupings with 100 but I did get them right I just couldn't answer them very quickly. Next time I need to work on groupings with 100 or use prototec more so i can get better at MATHS.

REACH VALUES in Powtoons

 

We were learning to create a Powtoon about REACH values. I found it easy to make the characters move around the screen. I found it hard to pick my idea for what shows RESPECT. I really enjoyed picking music because it sounds really nice. Next time I need to choose another letter in REACH so I can work with something that is much more challenging so I can challenge myself.

How To Make A Sandwich

 

We were learning to write instructions about something. I found it easy to write these instructions because I like making sandwiches. I found it hard to a specific sandwich because I like making lots of different sandwiches. Next time I need to choose some other instructions so I can learn about other things. 

Winter Cloze Activity

We were learning about a Winter Cloze Activity. The winter cloze activity is where you fill in the blanks and then re-read and see if the sentence makes sense. I found it easy to re-read and see if the sentence makes sense. I found it hard to write words that both could be the answer so if you ever try this please don't get tricked. Next time I need to work with someone so I can get their feedback and listen to their thinking just in case my thinking is wrong.

 

 

How To Write A Quality Blog Comment

 

We were learning to write a quality blog comment using fridge door magnets. I found it easy to take screenshots of the words because used ctrl+shift+Box with 2 lines(above the number 6) I found it hard to pick whose blog to write about because I liked a lot of things from quite a few peoples blogs. Next time I need to choose someone that wouldn't be ideal for me so I get to know a person that I don't collaborate with so much.

Animal Report

 

We were learning to write a report about an animal and then put one paragraph on one slide. I found it easy to pick the right fonts and colours for everything. I found it hard to find the right pictures for each slide. I really enjoyed researching and finding out mind blowing facts like rabbits evolved from mammals that are called Lagomorpha. Next time I might even write a report about another animal for more mind blowing facts.

Pop Art Bunny

We were learning to make a pop art animal using curve. I found it easy to find the image because I searched "bunny head". I found it hard to make the right shapes for the body. I really enjoyed making the different bright colours. Next time I need to add more detail and shading.

POPCORN!!!!

We were learning to see if heat changes the taste and the texture of food. I found it easy to sketch out the popcorn because I chose the ones that were big and less wrinkly. I found it hard to write the procedure. Next time i need to make my sketches more detailed.

My Speech 2020

We were learning to put our speech on slides and make a screencastify of us saying it. I found it easy to match the images to what I was saying. I found it hard to keep a good pace saying my speech because sometimes I say it to fast. I really enjoyed making my screencastify because it was fun too create a video of me saying my speech. Next time I will know how to use this cool app and know how to use it better.

Bubble Memories

We were learning to create a some memories about the lockdown. I found it easy to place the pictures in by using ctrl c and ctrl v. I found it hard to choose what photos to put in because I had so many fun times in lockdown. I really enjoyed creating this whole piece of learning because it's super fun to write and colour mostly everything on it. Next time I need to make even more exciting memories and put them on.

If I were a tree living in autum season

We were learning about how to write a short paragraph about autumn. I found it easy to walk around outside and get ideas for this paragraph. I found hard describe what these things sound like and what they do. Next time I need to add more detail.

Digital Me!

We were learning to make a digital character of ourselves using polyline and curve. I found it easy to create my hair because I duplicated my photo and  outlined it. I found it hard to make my nose because  I had to really focus using curve. I really enjoyed colouring my face because I like the colour I chose for my skin tone because it looks just like mine. Next time I need to add more detail so it looks much more detailed.

Lockdown Diary

We were learning about how to write about the lockdown that happened because of covid-19. Our teachers gave us a diary to work on throughout the lockdown. I found it hard to find words to use but I got through it. I enjoyed writing about the the pizza slide because I had everything listed in my head. I found it easy to write the steps of making the pizza because I have pizza all the time. Next time 

I know to write more and not get distracted.

Collage Creation

We were learning to  use texture on a google drawing and create an extinct animal. I really enjoyed making a tiger and using shapes to create it. I found it easy to find the background because it was the best one and the first. I found it hard to make a good size for every shape. Next time I need to make better sizes for everything.
